Levanga Hokkaido visited 17 elementary schools in Sapporo from June to July 2026, engaging with a total of 1,512 students through basketball. The effort was part of the SDGs initiative “LEVANGA ACTION,” carried out with local corporate partners.

What happened?

The project was made possible by Nakado Lease, Yamatō Sanyō Printing, Tsukisamu Manufacturing, and JA Kyōsai. Attendance varied by school: Shiseikan Elementary hosted 79 children, Yamanabe Minami 60, Takuhoku 66, and Kōjō 155. Players ran drill sessions covering dribbling, passing, and shooting, letting kids experience rebounds and steals firsthand.

Why it matters for Levanga Hokkaido

The activity aligns directly with Sapporo’s goal of “healthy body development” in education. It also targets SDG goals 3 (good health and well‑being), 4 (quality education), and 11 (sustainable cities). On court, athletes demonstrated pick‑and‑roll and perimeter shooting, showing the power of teamwork and skill.

What comes next?

Levanga Hokkaido plans to repeat the school visits next season, strengthening corporate ties and adding data‑analysis and mental‑training components. Collaboration with local NGOs and the municipality will help build a lasting sports‑education program.

Partners and supporters

JA Kyōsai acted as the main partner, providing funding and logistics. Sponsors supplied equipment and transportation, framing the effort as part of their CSR strategies that match Levanga Hokkaido’s mission.

Vision of LEVANGA ACTION

Under the slogan “Let’s cheer tomorrow in Hokkaido,” Levanga Hokkaido works with fans, boosters, businesses, local governments, and NGOs to create a sustainable future. Basketball serves as the common language to generate positive impact for the next generation.
